Electron Intelligence is inviting experienced energy and infrastructure professionals to join its Senior Consultant Network. Selected consultants will support time-bound project assignments across African power, renewable energy and related markets.

Electron Intelligence provides research and data services across Africa’s energy markets. We combine sector research, structured data and commercial analysis to help clients assess markets, projects and investment opportunities.
The role
Senior Consultants will work as experienced members of EI-led project teams. Depending on the assignment, you may lead a workstream, provide specialist expertise or manage a small delivery team.
You will take ownership of defined project outputs, from research design and stakeholder engagement through analysis, recommendations and client presentation.
What you will do
• Translate client questions and terms of reference into a focused work plan.
• Lead power and renewable-energy market, regulatory, commercial or investment analysis.
• Conduct interviews with operators, investors, regulators and other market participants.
• Build or review financial models, datasets and analytical frameworks.
• Produce and present client-ready reports, briefings and recommendations.
• Manage workstream timelines, client communication and delivery risks.
• Review team outputs and maintain clear records of sources, assumptions and calculations.
Areas of expertise
We are interested in consultants with depth in one or more of the following areas:
• Power markets, utility performance, regulation and regional electricity trade.
• Renewable-energy development, project economics and distributed power.
• Project finance, investment analysis and transaction advisory.
• Power and renewable energy market research, data analysis, policy, commercial strategy, and market entry.
Required experience and capabilities
• At least eight years of relevant experience in power or renewable-energy markets.
• Strong knowledge of one or more African power or renewable-energy markets.
• Experience leading consulting, advisory or research workstreams.
• The ability to turn incomplete market information into defensible conclusions.
• Strong analytical writing, quantitative and presentation skills.
• Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and presenting to senior clients.
• A record of delivering high-quality work within agreed timelines and with limited supervision.
• Sound judgment when handling confidential client and market information.
Relevant backgrounds
Candidates may come from power-sector consulting, utilities, independent power producers, renewable-energy developers, energy investment and transaction-advisory teams, regulators or specialist energy research firms.
