How Electron Intelligence collects and uses personal data.
Effective 12 June 2026
1. Who we are
Electron Intelligence Ltd. (EI, we, us or our) is a Nigerian company. EI controls the personal data described in this Policy. The Policy covers electronintel.io, EI accounts, newsletters, research, trials, subscriptions, contact forms and sales discussions.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you use EI, we collect:
- account and profile details, including name, work email, organisation, job title, country, account ID, verification and access status;
- trial, contact and sales information, including role, organisation, country, phone where provided, use case and messages;
- billing and subscription records returned by Paystack, including transaction and subscription identifiers, payment status and limited card descriptors;
- service activity, including pages and features used, searches, watchlists, downloads, browser and device information, IP address, analytics events and security logs;
- newsletter choices, support messages and records of your terms, privacy and marketing choices.
Do not submit sensitive or unnecessary personal information in open-text fields.
3. Why we use it
EI uses personal data to create and secure accounts, manage access and process subscriptions. We also use it to answer inquiries, send service messages, improve EI, enforce our terms and meet legal duties. We use your contact details for newsletters or marketing you request.
EI relies on contract where it needs data to provide an account, trial or subscription, and on legal obligation where the law requires processing. EI relies on its legitimate interests to operate, measure, secure and improve the Service, respond to users and prevent misuse. EI relies on consent for marketing where the law requires consent.
4. Service providers and international processing
EI uses Supabase for accounts and data, Vercel for hosting, Paystack for payments, PostHog for product analytics, Resend for email, Ghost for publishing and newsletters, and Microsoft Bookings for scheduled sales calls. EI also shares information with professional advisers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies when the law permits or requires it.
These providers may process data outside Nigeria or your country. EI uses contracts and other safeguards required by the law that applies to the transfer.
5. Cookies and PostHog analytics
EI uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect accounts and remember settings. EI also uses PostHog across the website and product. PostHog processes page views, clicks and other interactions, feature use, trial and checkout events, exports, errors, browser and device details, IP address and performance data.
For signed-in users, EI links this activity to the user's account ID, email, name, organisation, job title, country and access tier. PostHog may create session replays that show page content, cursor movement and interaction patterns. PostHog masks standard form inputs by default, but page text and other on-screen content may appear in a replay.
EI uses PostHog data to understand adoption, diagnose problems, improve features and prevent misuse. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, although this may affect parts of the Service.
6. Retention
EI keeps account information while the account is active and for up to 24 months after it closes. We keep trial, sales, contact, analytics and routine technical records for up to 24 months after the last relevant activity. We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe.
EI may keep billing, contract, security or dispute records for longer when a legal duty or active business need requires them. EI deletes or anonymises data when it no longer needs it.
7. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask EI for access to your personal data or ask EI to correct, delete or restrict it. You may also object to certain processing, withdraw consent, request eligible data in a portable format or complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
EI staff review trial and Enterprise requests. EI does not rely solely on automated decisions for account, trial or subscription eligibility. We may ask for enough information to confirm your identity before handling a privacy request.
You may also contact the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
8. Security, children and changes
EI restricts access to personal data and uses authentication, hosted infrastructure and system monitoring to protect it. No online service can guarantee absolute security. EI provides the Services for professionals aged 18 or older and does not direct them to children.
EI may update this Policy when the law, Services or providers change. EI will post the current version and effective date here and give registered users reasonable notice of a material change.
9. Contact
Use the contact form to make a privacy request or ask a legal or billing question. Start your message with “Privacy request,” “Legal question” or “Billing question” so we can route it to the right team.
